《霍法》以雄壮的历史画面表现了美国著名工运组织者、工会主席吉米·霍法的一生。导演德 维托技巧娴熟，影片画面精美，表演自然。然而对于一部人物传记片来说，导演选取的人物相关资料过多，主次失衡。德 维托对霍法采取了过分简单化的全盘肯定的观点，使这个复杂的历史人物几乎成为圣人，因而失去了有力的说服力和吸引力
