◎幕后揭秘

　　《钢铁巨人》是根据英国诗人作家 Laureate Ted Hughes 的童话书《Iron Giant》所改编。此书极受到英国剧场界的重视，华纳于是买下版权，有意将其拍成电影，并邀请动画界神童布莱德柏德参与本片计划。

　　布莱德身为此片导演，被原著深深吸，但对华纳原始拍摄计划却有着不同的看法。他认为此剧必须完全跳脱迪斯尼的卡通的公式，不以音乐歌唱为重点，而要非常着重它的故事及人物发展，创造一个小孩会心动 ，大人会感动的电影。影片在美上映期间，扎实的故事，生动的人物获得观众及影评人的一片好评。 铁巨人与小孩的细腻情谊，动感十足的刺激冒险，深深触动所有的人。

　　根据1968年的儿童图书改编，但动画的处理并不小儿科。
