      Bloom Towne is a small-town sheriffunder the thumb of thewell-established, deeply influential Mayor DickCavanaugh's family. WhenBloom's two teenage sons, Nate and Skylaraccidentally shoot and killDick during a deer-hunt, Bloom's long-heldallegiance to the reigningCavanaugh clan is tested. Skylar (still aminor) decides to take thewrap for his older brother Nate, claiming hefired the fatal shot. TheCavanaugh family's quick retaliation sendsSkylar on his way to countyjail, soon to be tried as an adult. Desperateand guilt-ridden, Natebreaks Skylar out of jail and sets off a chain oflawless acts, whichsend them deep into the woods and on the run.Bloom's choice between thelaw and his sons leads to revelations of oldfamily secrets thatthreaten to destroy everything he loves.
